đ How to Get Over the Fear of Sharing Online
How founders can start turning posts into opportunities.
Youâve got a ton of experience.
A great story.
Valuable insight.
So why arenât you posting?
Most founders want to build their personal brand.
They know itâll help them attract leads, open doors, and build trust.
But still they donât post.
Because fear is running the show.
If thatâs you, letâs talk about whatâs really going on, and how to get past it.
1. âI Donât Know What to Sayâ
Youâre not actually lacking ideas.
Youâre just overthinking them.
You want your first post (or next post) to be polished, profound, and perform well right out of the gate.
But content that converts doesnât start as perfect. It starts as consistent.
Start by answering: âWhat do I wish my customers understood better?â
Share lessons from real conversations, wins, or mistakes.
Post messy. Youâll refine your voice as you go.
And if you need some inspiration to keep going, check out The Hidden Power of Consistency.
2. Fear of Judgment Is Normal. But Itâs Not a Good Reason to Stay Silent
Letâs be real:
Youâre afraid of what someone might think.
âWhat if this flops?â
âWhat if it sounds cringe?â
âWhat if someone from high school sees it?â
The right people arenât judging you.
Theyâre watching, learning, and gaining trust in your expertise.
And the ones who do judge? They werenât buying from you anyway.
Picture your ideal client when you post, not your old coworkers.
Focus on who youâre helping, not who might roll their eyes.
Remember: Youâre doing this for your business, not their approval.
3. âItâs Not Workingâ After 5 Posts Is Like Quitting the Gym After One Workout
Founders quit on content way too early.
They post five times, get low engagement, and think, âThis doesnât work.â
But brand-building is a long game. It works when you do.
I started posting on X in 2023. It took about 15 months to gain 10K followers.
I got frustrated several times, but I kept posting.
The content youâre posting today is planting seeds.
Itâs warming up leads.
Itâs building a digital reputation that eventually becomes real-world leverage.
Commit to 90 days before you even look at analytics.
Track the right metrics (DMs, replies, connections, not just likes).
Stay in the game. Youâre closer than you think.
4. Take Action and Quit Thinking So Much
The only way to get better at posting is to, well, post.
You donât find your voice by waiting for inspiration. You find it by using it.
And the good news is:
You only need a few types of content to get started:
Authority posts (teach what you know)
Story posts (share what youâve learned)
Offer posts (tell people how you help)
Pick one format. One idea. One platform.
Post 3x a week, no matter what.
Watch how fast you find your rhythm.
And if this seems overwhelming, FounderBrands can help take it all off of your plate.
The Takeaway
You donât need a massive following to have success.
You need a clear voice, a real message, and the courage to show up.
So if youâve been watching others post and thinking, âI should do that tooâŠâ
Hit publish. Share your experience. Tell your story.
